NIPHRN had the pleasure to work with the Northern Ireland Alcohol and Drug Alliance (NIADA) on an a rapid evidence summary which was included in their conference on

“Cannabis – Better Informed” on 22nd March 2023, Crumlin Road Gaol

NIADA is the alliance which facilitates co-operation among voluntary and community sector organisations, supporting those affected by alcohol and drug use and their families.   The alliance held their annual conference where the aim of the day was to begin the conversation, high light the growing trends and for those professionals in attendance to leave better informed about Cannabis.

The conference delivered presentations from a health and justice perspective and facilitated healthy academic debate on the pros and cons of its use, decriminalisation, and legalisation from a range of speakers.  Feedback from focus groups was also examined.

A rapid evidence summary of literature was written by NIPHRN to form part of the information booklet received on the day.  This information will allow participants to go away and further their knowledge around the subject and to become better informed on Cannabis when working with service users and their families.
